Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive in Bagdogra/NJP - Drive from Bagdogra/NJP to Darjeeling (93 km/approx. 3 hours)

Assistance at the airport/railway station on arrival and drive to Darjeeling. Standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134m, ‘Dorje Ling’, or place of the Thunderbolt, offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks, with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others. Often referred to as the “Queen of the Hills”, it remains just as alluring with its tiny waterfalls, little villages and a narrow gauge railway track. Surrounded by World Famous Tea Gardens and snow capped mountains, Darjeeling remains one of the most exotic destinations. Graeme Westlake in his book ‘An introduction to hill stations on India’ refers to Darjeeling as having “A view Scarcely Unrivalled on Earth”. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 - Darjeeling local sightseeing two points (04 AM to 07AM) and best points (9.30 AM to 1.30 PM or 2.00 PM to 6.00 PM)

Early morning start for Tiger Hill to watch the spectacular sunrise and its amazing effects on the Mt. Kanchendzonga (World’s 3rd highest peak), Visit Ghoom Monastery (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY). Breakfast at the Hotel followed by half day local Best points sightseeing covering Padmaja N. Zoological Garden (Closed on Thursday), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee Self-help Center (Closed on Sunday), Ropeway (entry fees not included), walk around visit to the Mall and Local Market (Closed on Thursday). Evening Free for shopping & individual activity, overnight at hotel.

Day 3 - Excursion to Mirik and Pashupati Market (48 kms / 2 hrs approx.)

Breakfast at the hotel and proceed for excursion to Mirik Lake and Pashupati marketMirik Lake: It is newly started hill station in West Bengal and situated 48 kms west of Darjeeling near Nepal border with a facility of boating at Mirik lake which is 1.25 kms long, it is a semi-artificial lake. Drive from Darjeeling to Mirik is via natural forest & tea garden. The main tourist area, Krishna-Nagar, is south of the lake.Pashupati Market : Situated right at Nepal Border is on the way to Mirik. It is famous for low cost cosmetics & clothes. Overnight stay at Darjeeling

Day 4 - Day at Leisure

This day is free at Darjeeling for shopping and individual activity. You may enjoy a toy train ride, Ropeway to take the pleasure of aerial view of tea garden (entry fees not included) and then walk around the Mall road and shop for souvenirs from the local Market (Closed on Thursday) of Darjeeling.

Day 5 - Darjeeling to Gangtok (105 kms / 4 hrs approx.)

Morning transfer to Gangtok (105kms/4hrs). At an altitude of 5500ft Gangtok is the capital of the state of Sikkim is a beautiful and clean town promising of the best monasteries and landscapes. Evening free for individual activity and leisure, overnight at hotel.

Day 6 - Excursion trip to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

After breakfast start for a half-day trip to Tsomgo lake (12400ft), 32kms from Gangtok City. The lake is almost about 1Km long, oval in shape and 15 mtrs deep. The lake is considered sacred by the local people, Further 12Kms is the Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir dedicated to the memory of soldier Harbhajan Singh. Evening free at Gangtok for shopping and individual activity.

About Destination

Nestled between the mighty peaks of the Himalayas, the city of Gangtok rises as a center for Tibetology and Tibetan Buddhist culture. The majestic Kangchenjunga towers over this beautiful town, which is the third highest mountain in the world. Popularly known as the ‘Queen of the Hills’, Darjeeling provided stunning locations for many Bollywood movies including Barfi, Main Hoon Na and Aradhana. Developed by the British, the colonial era architecture can still be seen everywhere in Darjeeling. Tiger Hill offers a spectacular view of both Mount Everest and Mount Kangchenjunga. Lloyd’s Botanical Garden has a collection of several species of flora including oak, magnolia and bamboo. Go on an adventurous trek up to Sandakphu in Singalila Range, the highest peak in West Bengal and feast your eyes on the spellbinding panorama.
